Fernbank’s Adult Programming Provides Grown-Ups with Some Child-Like Fun

Latin Dance Nights, Fernbank After Dark, Adult Prom and Guided Yoga Headline Fernbank’s Adult Festivities

ATLANTA, Feb. 20, 2020 – Who says you must grow up? Fernbank wants to bring the sense of wonder and amazement felt as a child, to adults as well. With a variety of special programs, Fernbank invites grown-ups to quit “adulting” and tap into their inner child by exploring some of the museum’s unique offerings in an exclusive setting.

Whether you want to dance the night away, make your way through history, explore the sciences or find your inner yogi, there is something for everyone in Fernbank’s adult programming selection. With four headlining programs, each with their own exciting festivities, there is something for every taste and interest.

Latin Dance Night invites attendees to get in the groove and spice up the night with Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia and Merengue dancing. With a live DJ and professional instructors, you can dance the night away beginning at 8 pm with lessons staring around 8:30 pm. This event is for ages 21+ so don’t forget your ID! The next Latin Dance Night is Friday, February 28, 2020 from 7pm-11pm, with additional dates of May 20 and November 20, 2020.

Fernbank After Dark: Senses gives guests aged 21+ an exploratory night at the museum. With access to Fernbank’s new special exhibit, Our Senses: An Immersive Experience, science activities, a special Giant Screen 3D movie, craft beer and cocktails, and live music, there are endless opportunities for fun! Fernbank After Dark: Senses will take place on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 7pm-11pm. Additionally, the Fernbank After Dark series is held the second Friday of each month throughout the year, so keep those calendars marked.

Adult Prom provides guests an opportunity to throw things back to those high school days and relive, or re-do, the biggest night of your teenage years. This 1920s themed night will transport prom-goers back to a time of speakeasies and jazz music. With a live DJ, dates can dance until their feet hurt, akin to the dance marathons of the roaring ‘20s; making this is one prom that you won’t want to miss. So rent your limos and dust off that tux or gown by Friday, April 24, 2020. Prom starts at 7pm – but we know you’ll want to be fashionably late – and goes until 11pm.

Past Meets Presence slows things down and allows guests to find their Zen with a guided yoga course at Fernbank Museum. This after-hours class is suitable for all skill levels and beginners are welcome. Admission to this event includes access to Fernbank’s special exhibit, Our Senses: An Immersive Experience. Great for adults, this event is also appropriate for ages 14+. Bring your mat, stretch and explore, Thursday, April 30, 2020 from 7pm-9pm.
