Visit the mobile archaeology exhibit and explore Georgia’s past.

Artifact Explorations
Kennesaw State University Anthropology Club and the Society for Georgia Archaeology
Learn about ancient artifacts with a variety of hands-on activities, including a pump drill, flint knapping and animal skull IDs.

Ask a Paleontologist 
Dr. Tony Martin, Emory University
10am – Noon
Curious minds want to know—ask a paleontologist all of your dinosaur questions.

Fossil Fun
Geology Honors Society at Georgia State University
Enjoy hands-on sensory activities about geology and fossils.

All About Rocks and Minerals
Georgia Mineral Society
Explore rocks and minerals found in sand as well as in common household items.  

Metal Detecting
Kennesaw State University Anthropology Club
10am – 2pm, WildWoods Dig Pit, Outdoor Nature Gallery
Try your hand at locating artifacts using metal detectors. (Weather permitting.)  

Glowing Rocks and Minerals
Some rocks and minerals have hidden qualities to the naked eye. Although they look ordinary to the naked eye, see how they glow when viewed under a black light.

Photo Stops
Enjoy a variety of special dinosaur photo opportunities around the Museum, including a life-size replica of a Giganotosaurus skull.

Shark Tooth Giveaway
Celebrate Georgia’s State Fossil with this opportunity to take home your very own shark tooth. (Limited quantities. Available while supplies last.)
