Field Trip Prices and Policies
Special field trip pricing is available for pre-K through 12th grade public and private schools, day cares and home-schooled groups with a letter of intent. Reservations must be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance and is valid for groups of 10 or more. All reservations must be confirmed with the Field Trip Team, and full payment is required.
Beginning Aug. 1, 2026
Education Admission includes all museum exhibits, Wildwoods and Fernbank Forest. Enhance your students’ field experience by adding field trip program or film for only $2 per student and/or chaperone.

Persons not included in the reservation must purchase tickets online at individual admission rates. Field Trip Programs are not available for same-day purchases.
Deposits and Payments
June – July Arrivals
- Full payment and a final head count are required at the time you make a reservation.
- Reservations cannot be changed at check-in. A refund will not be given for any unused tickets included in the final headcount
August – May Arrivals
- A 50% deposit is due six weeks after making your reservation.
- 1 week prior to your field trip, the final head count and balance is due. Reservations cannot be changed at check-in. A refund will not be given for any unused tickets included in the final head count.
- Guests not included in the final head count should purchase general admission tickets online or at the box office.
- The deposit is due at time of booking for reservations made less than six weeks in advance.
- After your visit, a final receipt will be emailed to the field trip coordinator.
Cancellations and Refunds
- Deposits are fully refundable when the reservation is canceled more than 2 weeks before visit date.
- Deposits are non-refundable when the reservation is canceled less than 2 weeks from the visit date or virtual program.
- No refunds will be granted if you miss any or all of your scheduled field trip or virtual program.
- If a refund is due after the final payment and head counts are given, a refund will be issued after your visit. Checks will be returned to the school by mail within four to six weeks. Payments made by credit card will be refunded directly to the card used for the initial payment and will post within three to five business days.

For a safe and enjoyable field trip experience, please adhere to the following policies during your visit. Fernbank Museum reserves the right to refuse or revoke the admission of anyone whose conduct violates these guidelines without refund.
Lunch Information
Bean Sprouts Café – opening Fall 2026
Bean Sprouts is opening in early Fall, offering students healthy food choices including picky eaters, those with allergies or other dietary needs. Please check back in September for the opening dates.

Groups who purchase lunch from Bean Sprouts may enjoy lunch picnic-style in the Great Hall, the front lawn or Dinosaur Plaza. We ask that you do not sit on the front steps.
Bringing Your Lunch - Effective September 23, 2026
Outside food and beverages (other than water) are not permitted inside the Museum, WildWoods or Fernbank Forest. Limited eating areas are available for groups to enjoy their brown-bagged lunch. School groups are encouraged to have lunch after leaving Fernbank. Lunches must be stored on the bus during your visit. Groups are responsible for their own food quality. Fernbank will not supply coolers, ice or food prep areas. Restaurant food delivery is prohibited.
Where to Eat Your Brown-Bag Lunch
Your group may enjoy lunch picnic-style on the front lawn or Dinosaur Plaza. We ask that you do not sit on the front steps. Groups are responsible for their own cleanup. Please dispose of all trash/recyclable materials in the containers provided.
Museum Store
Schedule time in your itinerary to visit the Museum Store. Students can discover fun and educational souvenirs like fossils, magnets, science books and kits. Students can enter in groups of 10 at a time with a chaperone. Credit/debit cards and mobile pay are the only forms of payment accepted.
