NatureQuest is a different kind of museum experience--one where children are engaged through over 100 interactive encounters on a journey to explore an immersive, nature-inspired environment filled with live animals, hands-on learning, the inspiration to discover, and the thrill of following curiosity’s path.
This immersive experience transports visitors ages 2 through 10 into a world that belongs to the young. Highlighted by six dynamic ecosystems and a working clubhouse built among giant trees, this all-new permanent children’s exhibition is filled with opportunities to explore and discover in every nook and cranny.
Everywhere you look, there is something to “do.” Games, interactive and live animals are just the beginning! Look, explore, engage, observe, discover, climb, play, learn!
NatureQuest was designed with state curriculum standards in mind. Key concepts that can be explored in the exhibit include: habitats, lifecycles, basic needs of plants and animals, fossils, rocks, adaptation, camouflage, ecosystems, and more! The six ecosystems featured in the exhibit are representative of Georgia. As students explore the habitats of Georgia, what might seem like play is actually a rich educational experience. Like all of Fernbank's exhibits, the experience is self-guided.
NatureQuest is the perfect family adventure. Everywhere you look, there is something to see and do. The exhibit offers the unique ability to investigate a variety of ecosystems and engages children by featuring activities that encourage open-ended exploration. The Clubhouse is home base for a variety of activities, including microscopes, books and activity cards.
