The American Amazon may be the world’s best kept secret. Journey into the heart of the deep South in American Amazon, a new film premiering in the giant screen theater. Narrated by Louisiana native, musical artist, and storyteller, Jon Batiste, this cinematic experience highlights the hidden biodiversity, extraordinary wildlife and rare beauty of North America’s last unseen wilderness.
Viewers will travel across Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and the Carolinas, and discover an untamed world of ancient cypress forests, fairytale swamps, winding blackwater rivers and crystalline springs. Come face-to-face with American “swamp bears” and giant hellbender salamanders; encounter elusive alligators, manatees and the Florida panther; and take part in the mass migration of the world’s only social raptor, the swallow-tailed kite.
A place buzzing with revelations, where mysteries still tread around every corner of the swamp, American Amazon celebrates the wild places in our own backyard and the importance of protecting them for generations to come.
