Teen Forest Lab: Owl Pellet Shadowboxes

Join a Fernbank Educator for a hands-on workshop where science meets art! Teens will try their hands as ornithologists by dissecting owl pellets to discover and identify the tiny bones inside, uncovering information about the owl’s diet and environment. Participants will then use the bones to create a shadowbox display to take home. Explore owl diets, ecology and basic skeletal anatomy while creating a unique piece of art!
This workshop is for teens only (age 13-17 years old).
Cost: This program is $25 for Fernbank members and $40 for nonmembers. Your ticket for Teen Forest Lab: Owl Pellet Shadowboxes includes a two-hour workshop at Fernbank Museum, self-guided exploration of all museum exhibits and your choice of giant screen film.*
Space is limited to 20 people and reservations are required online. We cannot accept walk-ins.
Location: Participants will meet in the museum lobby, then proceed as a group to the Kendeda Pavilion in WildWoods.
