2024 Sensory Mornings
Join us for a series of sensory events, designed for guests with sensory sensitivities or special needs who might benefit from a less-crowded environment. These experiences will provide a quieter and calmer environment for guests to explore the museum, experience the nature trails of WildWoods, and enjoy a sensory-friendly film screening in the Giant Screen Theater.
Early Museum Access | 9 a.m.
Explore indoor exhibits and outdoor nature experiences at your own pace, an hour before our normal opening.
Featured special exhibits—A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature and Forest Forms
Sensory-Friendly Giant Screen Film| 10:15 a.m.
Enjoy a movie screening with modified lighting, lowered volume and no need for 3D glasses. Featured movies vary based on date.
- Sensory Mornings are included with General Admission.
- Dates are subject to change.
- Fernbank opens with normal hours at 10 a.m. with a sensory friendly film screening at 10:15 a.m. You are welcome to continue your adventure beyond these times, but please be aware of the potential for increased attendance.
