Turtles – on view through Sept. 7

The turtles are slowly making their way out of Atlanta! Make sure you visit by Sunday, Sept. 7 and check out this ex-shell-ent exhibit that features live turtle habitats (including staff-favorite Snorkel) and a hare-raising amount of information about turtle species and conservation. Live animal presentations from Little Ray’s Nature Centre top off this turtle-y awesome takeover. Snap up tickets now!

Extinct and Endangered: Insects in Peril

These larger-than-life photos of critically endangered or extinct insects reveals intricacies of insects that most would never see. Photographer Levon Biss used his macrophotography skills, using special lenses and up to 10,000 individual images, to capture each insect’s stunning details. Located outside in the Nature Gallery in WildWoods, guests can be inspired by the natural setting and develop a deeper appreciate for the insect world that’s always around us.

Lost in Sight: In Search of the Flint’s Headwaters

Did you know that the Atlanta airport has the beginning of a river below it? Learn about the obscured headwaters of the Flint River, Georgia’s second-longest river, through photos by Virginie Drujon-Kippelen. The visuals have a powerful impact, and tell of a fragile and vulnerable environment.

Dogs and Sealife have taken over the Giant Screen

Superpower Dogs has taken over the Giant Screen Theater, featuring six real-life canine heroes and their human partners as they take on everything from avalanches to poachers. Want to travel under the sea instead? Check out Coral Sea, where you can learn about the research and conservation efforts of green sea turtles. Both films are showing daily and the theater is the perfect place to cool down and relax after enjoying WildWoods and Fernbank Forest.
