Watch as Ancient Natural History Comes to Life in New Giant Screen Movie at Fernbank
Museum Alive 3D Takes Visitors on a Journey through Time with Naturalist Icon David Attenborough
ATLANTA, February 7, 2018—Debuting at Fernbank Museum of Natural History's Giant Screen Theater on Friday, February 9, Museum Alive 3D takes audiences on a journey through the world-famous Natural History Museum in London in a compelling tale of discovery, adventure and magic. As the doors of the museum are locked and night falls, iconic naturalist David Attenborough introduces viewers to the extinct creatures that fascinate him the most—including dinosaurs, ice age beasts and giant reptiles—as they magically come alive before his eyes.
In this incredible expedition through the ages, guests will watch in awe as Attenborough experiences long-extinct creatures come back to life. Throughout the movie, he will dodge a sabre-toothed cat and a fearsome bird of prey, watch as a spinner dolphin and an ancient ichthyosaur circle the Central Hall, and laugh as a dodo pecks his leg after food. In the magnificent finale, he will feed a hungry Diplodocus by hand from the top balcony. Far from being just fantasy, Museum Alive 3D is firmly rooted in the latest science and was developed through a unique collaboration between leading paleontologists and award-winning CGI artists. Audiences will be treated to a thrilling film that educates and entertains, as they witness the past come roaring back to life.
"I've been coming here since I was a boy of eight. It is one of the holiest of holies—one of the great places for natural history," said Attenborough, of the Natural History Museum in London. "Each time was astonishing—just looking at cases full of electric blue butterflies is enough to impress a child." Attenborough delves into the stories and myths surrounding the discovery and acquisition of these astonishing creatures. "Each one," he says, "has its own fascinating story."
