Fernbank Museum Announces Fifth Annual Dinosaur Egg Hunt

Hop Over for an EGGstraordinary Adventure on April 12

ATLANTA–Fernbank Museum of Natural History will be hosting the fifth annual Dinosaur Egg Hunt on April 12, 2014. The event will feature age-appropriate, timed egg hunts, thousands of prize-filled eggs, special activities, and more.

Presented in partnership with Radio Disney AM590, the Dinosaur Egg Hunt is one of Fernbank’s most popular family event days and provides a unique alternative to traditional egg hunts.

“This festive, springtime event offers the best of both worlds—outdoor fun for all ages and lots of exciting ways to explore, wonder, and enjoy hands-on exhibitions inside the Museum,” said Brandi Berry, Fernbank’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

Scheduled Activities*

8:30 a.m. Georgia Bubbleman demonstration and Radio Disney AM590 in the Dinosaur Plaza

9:30 a.m. Ages 2-3 egg hunt

10 a.m.  Special activities offered in the Great Hall including temporary tattoos, games and photo opportunities with Fernbank’s mascot, Giggy A. Dinosaur.

10:15 a.m. Ages 4-5 egg hunt

11 a.m. Ages 2-3 egg hunt

11:30 a.m. Ages 6-8 egg hunt

12 p.m. Family Hunt (maximum child age 10)

Advance registration is required to participate in a timed egg hunt. Dinosaur Egg Hunt tickets are $5 (plus sales tax) per child in addition to regular Museum tickets (free for members or $15-$18 for nonmembers). All children must be accompanied by an adult. To register, visit

Dinosaur Egg Hunt tickets include general Museum admission. With Museum admission, visitors also have access to the new exhibition, Whales: Giants of the Deep, featuring authentic whale skeletons, life-sized models, unique experiences, fascinating stories by “whale riders” and rare cultural objects.

Space is limited. If you miss your designated egg hunt time, you will be given another time slot only if space is available.
