Volunteer Greeter
Position Summary
To provide excellent customer service to visitors at Museum entrance.
Responsibilities
- Greet each visitor with a smile
- Ensure visitors have appropriate tickets to enter the Museum and/or IMAX® Theatre
- Orient guests to Museum layout
- Distribute visitor guides, exhibition guides and membership brochures
- Encourage visitors to become members and direct them to ticketing as appropriate
- Answer various questions regarding hours, exhibition locations and facilities
- Help visitors plan their self-guided visit as traffic flow permits
- Coordinate flow of school groups as needed
Qualifications/Expectations
Seeking volunteer candidate who is friendly; customer service-oriented, able to stand for four-hour shift; comfortable working in a busy environment; appears as scheduled for shift; possesses general knowledge of the Museum; adheres to volunteer dress code and follows Museum polices and procedures.
Time Commitment
Must commit to a minimum of 1, four-hour shift per month
Monday–Friday shifts: 9:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday shift: 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday shifts: 11:50 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
