Volunteer IMAX® Attendant

Position Summary
To provide excellent customer service by welcoming visitors to the IMAX® Theatre and reviewing visitors’ tickets.

Responsibilities

  • Greet each visitor with a smile
  • Collect each visitor’s ticket and make sure visitors are attending correct film
  • Handle special needs of handicapped guests or guests with infants
  • Review sales receipt of school groups; assist teachers with seating students
  • Open/close exit doors in sync with film and direct guests to appropriate entry/exit doors
  • Coordinate with fellow volunteers to be sure one volunteer remains inside during the film 
  • Work with Security to monitor and correct any disruptive behavior in theatre
  • Answer general questions regarding Museum events, exhibitions and facilities

Qualifications/Expectations
Seeking volunteer candidate who is friendly; customer service-oriented; able to stand for shift duration; comfortable working in a busy environment; able to climb stairs; appears as scheduled for shift; possesses general knowledge of the Museum; adheres to volunteer dress code and follows Museum polices and procedures.

Time Commitment
Must commit to a minimum of 1, four-hour shift per month
Monday–Saturday shifts: 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Fridays, Martinis & IMAXâ: 6:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.
Sunday shift: 12:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
