Game Day Wednesdays

Wednesdays through August 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Join us in the Conference Rooms (located on Upper Level) for a variety of games, including G-E-C-K-O Bingo, tic-tac-dino, and more. Prizes for bingo winners! BONUS: Receive a free hot dog with each Museum ticket purchased.

Show & Tail Weekend: Geckos

Grrrrreat geckos, have we got a weekend for you! Meet Galileo the Gecko, play gecko games, enjoy a performances of Boogie Woogie Bullfrog (Saturday) and big bubble fun with the Georgia Bubbleman (Sunday). Full schedule of activities.

Bug Out Festival

It’s DINO-MITE! The highlight of the weekend will be Fernbank’s annual Dinosaur Birthday Bash event on Saturday. And on Sunday, enjoy dinosaur games, performances a walk-around mascot and more! Learn more!

Dinosaur Birthday Bash
Saturday, August 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Celebrate the world’s largest dinosaurs with a day of fun-filled, dinosaur-themed activities, including free treats from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream. Check out the full schedule of activities.

Boy Scout Archaeology Merit Badge Program
Select Saturdays, September 18, October 23 and November 6 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Attention Boy Scouts interested in working on their Archaeology Merit Badge! Join a Fernbank Museum archaeologist for a Boy Scout exclusive program. Boy scouts will be led through a simulated excavation and experimental archaeology activity in order to meet the merit badge requirements which call for professional assistance. Bring lunch or money to purchase something from the Café for a 30 minute lunch break. Check out our Frequently Asked Questions page for further information.

Water Family Celebration
Sunday, October 10 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Celebrate the arrival of Fernbank’s newest special exhibition, Water: H20=Life, with day of family fun! Guests will enjoy games and giveaways from the B98.5 Street Team, hands-on activities, crafts and more!

Weekends in the Naturalist Center
Enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities every weekend in the Naturalist Center. Activities vary from animal encounters to science explorations and more, and will be available every weekend. Check the activity sign when you arrive to see what’s happening.

Children’s Birthday Parties
Host your child’s birthday party with the world’s largest dinosaurs! A variety of birthday packages are available, offering opportunities for live animal encounters and a “birthday throne!”
