Africa Day kicks-off 2006 family activity day series
ATLANTA—Fernbank Museum of Natural History will begin its 2006 series of Fernbank Family Fun Days on Saturday, February 25 with Africa Day, featuring special programming and activities that focus on the wildlife, landscapes and cultures of Africa.
In addition to crafts, scavenger hunts and other family activities, there will be storytelling by Rob Cleveland and special performances by The African Dance Connection, a lively and charismatic group of dancers and drummers who perform African and African-inspired music and dance.
Visitors also have the opportunity to see Wild Safari: A South African Adventure in the IMAX® Theatre. Wild Safari puts audiences in the passenger seat of an open-air vehicle on a 3,000 mile journey to discover the “Big Five” animals of South Africa—the elephant, Cape buffalo, rhino, leopard and lion, which are considered the continent’s most spectacular animals.

- Screenings of Wild Safari at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. (separate IMAX® ticket required)
