Host your child’s birthday party with the world’s largest dinosaurs! A variety of options are available, offering opportunities for live animal encounters and a “birthday throne!”
Package prices are $200 for Museum members and $300 for non-members.
Fernbank’s Birthday Party Package Includes:
- Unlimited access to Fernbank Museum for 10 children and 10 adults*
- Two hours in the private party room
- Use of the Birthday Dinosaur Throne
- T-shirt for the Birthday Child
- Goodie bags for all the children
Birthday Activities:
Explore the Museum: Fernbank is home to the world’s largest dinosaurs and a number of exciting special and permanent exhibits! Museum tours are self-guided.
Museum tickets are included with birthday party package for 10 adults and 10 children. Additional Museum tickets can be purchased at the special rate of $8 for adults and $6 for children.

Additional Activities:
Animal Encounter
An animal encounter is a great way to make any birthday party special! Children can participate in an up close encounter with a slithery or scurrying special guest. A Fernbank educator will visit your party with two live animals from the Museum’s education collection. Party guests will learn fascinating facts about amphibians, reptiles or invertebrates and even get to touch one of the animal visitors!
Cost: $150. *Animal Encounters are for ages 5 and older and must be booked three weeks in advance. Please review the Birthday Party Animal Encounters contract.
See an IMAX® Film
Immerse yourself in the world’s largest film format on a screen stretching five stories high and 72 feet wide with state-of-the art surround sound. Films start at the top of every hour and are approximately 45 minutes. More information about Fernbank’s IMAX® Theatre.
Cost: When purchased as part of a birthday party package, IMAX® tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children.

Availability:
Saturday: Noon to 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
*Note: Museum access is unlimited. However, the total time reserved for your group in the party room is two hours, including time to set up and clean up. A Fernbank staff member will be on-site to greet your party, hand out wristbands and escort your group to the party room.
Reservations and Payment:
Please make reservations at least two weeks in advance. Full payment is due upon reservation and can be made by cash, check or credit card and. Call 404.929.6390 to check availability and make reservations.
Refund Policy:
If a party is cancelled two weeks prior to the party date, 50% of the birthday fees are refundable. Parties cancelled less then two weeks in advance are non-refundable.
Party Goodie Bags:
Additional goodie bags are available for purchase at $3/bag. Orders must be made at least one week in advance.
Lunch:
Lunch is not included in the birthday package, but is available for purchase from The Fernbank Café.

Birthday Party Invitations
Download a Fernbank Museum invitation to notify your guests. This invitation can be used as a self mailer or used with a 6 x 9 envelope. Please do not use any Fernbank Museum phone number for RSVPs or party information.
Birthday Party Tips:
- Don’t forget to bring cake, ice cream, cake knife, candles, matches, plates, cups, napkins, silverware, and any other additional party supplies (party hats, etc.). Please note: Due to Fernbank's high ceilings in the Great Hall, helium balloons are not permitted in any area of the Museum.
- Birthday cupcakes are a great (and easy) alternative to a traditional cake.
- If you choose to participate in an animal encounter please prepare the children prior to the encounter so that they may be calm and have on their “listening ears” to ensure a fun learning experience.
- Make memories! Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture all the birthday fun.
