Q. Can my group arrive earlier than the start time for the birthday party?
A. Your group is welcome to tour the Museum before and after the scheduled party time, however the total time reserved for your group in the party room is 2 hours, including time for set up and clean up. If your group wants to come before the scheduled party time please inform the coordinator in advance so that you may be provided with the appropriate Museum passes.
Q. Can I bring food to the party?
A. Cake and ice cream are the only foods that are allowed to be brought into the Museum for birthday parties. If your group would like to order lunch from The Fernbank Café, please let us know and we can provide a variety of menu items for your group at a nominal charge.
Q. What kind of party decorations does Fernbank provide in the party room?
A. Fernbank will provide tables with white linens, white folding chairs and a dinosaur birthday throne for the birthday child.
Q. Can I bring additional decorations?
A. You are certainly welcome to bring additional decorations such as additional table cloths, centerpieces or decorative party hats, napkins, plates and cups. However, you may not bring any sort of decorations that needs to be hung from the walls or ceiling. Due to Fernbank's high ceilings in the Great Hall, helium balloons are not permitted in any area of the Museum.
Q. What is included in the goodie bags?
A. Goodie bags include several different items from the Museum Store and may include pencils, erasers, small games and toys. Goodie bags do not contain candy and actual contents will vary.
Q. Does the total of 10 children and 10 adults include the birthday child and his/her parents?
A. Yes. The total includes the birthday child and all siblings, parents and grandparents. You are welcome to bring more than 10 children and 10 adults at an additional fee of $6 for children and $8 for adults.
Q. If I am a Museum member, do I get in free?
A. Members receive a discount on the base price of the party. Therefore, all member adults and member children are still be included in the total number for the party.
