Position Objectives
To provide excellent customer service to visitors at Museum entrance.


  • Greet each visitor with a smile
  • Ensure visitors have appropriate tickets to enter the Museum and/or IMAX┬« Theatre
  • Orient guests to Museum layout
  • Distribute visitor guides, exhibition guides and membership brochures
  • Encourage visitors to become members and direct them to ticketing as appropriate
  • Answer various questions regarding hours, exhibition locations, and facilities
  • Help visitors plan their self-guided visit as traffic flow permits
  • Coordinate flow of school groups as needed
  • Open or close museum access point in accordance with museum admission times and security directives
  • Friendly and customer service-oriented personality
  • Able to stand for a portion of a four-hour shift
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment
  • Appears as scheduled for shift and maintains an accurate record of hours volunteered
  • Possesses or is willing to gain a general knowledge of the Museum
  • Adheres to volunteer dress code and follows Museum policies and procedures
