Examine the science and cultural influence of the world’s most sought-after mineral. Gold specimens and artifacts reveal its properties, origins and role as a driver of human settlement and a symbol of status. More than a ton (2,000 pounds) of gold is displayed throughout the exhibition in objects from around the world.
Gold is organized by the American Museum of Natural History, New York (www.amnh.org), based on an exhibition by the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
