Put Georgia on Your Mind
Enhance your visit to the permanent exhibition A Walk Through Time in Georgia by adding an on-site school program featuring our home state. Georgia’s Natural Regions and First Georgians focus on Georgia’s rich natural and cultural history and diverse regions. To facilitate learning in the exhibition, have students complete a scavenger hunt, available on our Web site. Take it even further by adopting a region, with a Regions of Georgia Kit.
The Earth Rocks!
Learn more about what happens beneath the surface in the on-site school Explosive Earth: Volcanoes & Earthquakes, an exploration of the geologic forces of nature that can topple mountains and sometimes shake us to our core. Enhance this earth science programs with a Fossil Floor Explore Kit, offering a step by step exploration of the Museum’s fossil floors.
Make a Cultural Connection
You are what you wear—or are you? Discover the information people communicate simply by what they wear in Fernbank’s newest permanent exhibition, Reflections of Culture. Explore how people of different cultures express themselves through personal ornamentation—clothing, jewelry, and body modification. Enrich your students’ experience by signing up for the companion on-site school program, Reflections of Culture and help them better understand this type of global communication.
