Elementary School Highlights
Prehistoric Fun!
Encounter the world’s largest dinosaurs in the permanent exhibition Giants of the Mesozoic. Add more prehistoric fun by including the new on-site school program, Prehistoric Animal Adventure, and learn about amazing animals—from tiny trilobites to huge mammoths that roamed the earth before, during and after the reign of the dinosaurs. And, be sure to visit A Walk Through Time in Georgia to see more prehistoric animals including a giant ground sloth, flying reptiles and even more dinosaurs!

Wild About Animals
Make a live animal encounter part of your field trip. Lifestyles of the Green and Furry provides a hands-on introduction to the lifecycles of plants and animals. Remarkable Reptiles is a unique opportunity to get an up-close look at reptiles. Pair these on-site school programs with a visit to A Walk Through Time in Georgia and challenge students to find animals that call Georgia home.
Calling All Shapes
Go on a “shape hunt” at Fernbank! Patterns in Nature is an interactive on-site school program teaching students how to recognize everyday shapes and patterns in the natural world. Following the program, we recommend a tour of the permanent exhibitions The World of Shells and A Walk Through Time in Georgia, where students can continue their “shape hunt.”
