FAQs and Helpful Hints

Q. Can we purchase lunch or bring or own lunches?
A. We recommend pre-ordering affordable school lunches from The Fernbank Café. Lunches are $6.50 plus tax and must be ordered at least 2 weeks prior to your scheduled visit. Download an order form and fax to 404.929.6405.

Groups also have the option of bringing their own lunches. If you bring your own lunches, can be stored under the staircases in the Great Hall or on your buses.

Q. Where can we eat our lunches?
A. School Groups are invited to eat a picnic-style lunch in the Great Hall, on the Terrace, on the front lawn or on the Dinosaur Plaza.

Q: What exhibits, films and programs are best for my students/grade level?
A: Please refer to this handy quick reference guide for a listing by grade level and check our downloadable resources for curriculum standards, grade-specific activities and more.

Q: When is the best time to schedule my group’s field trip to Fernbank Museum?
A: We suggest scheduling field trips early in the week (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday) and early in the semester to give your students more time and space to explore and to give you first choice of time slots for programs and films. We suggest that you have 3-4 possible dates in mind when scheduling your trip.
