Pirate & Princess Weekend

Well, blow me down! Those scallywag pirates and poised princesses are once again taking over Fernbank Museum during a fun-filled weekend adventure. Join us in your favorite pirate or princess costume for hands-on activities, games and much more.

Scheduled Activities for Sunday, May 13*

Georgia Bubbleman
Noon-3pm, Dinosaur Entrance Plaza
Enjoy big bubble fun.

Princess or Pirate Name Generator
Noon-4pm, Great Hall
Don’t be a scallywag! Ye needs a proper princess or pirate name and we’ll give you one.

Museum Scavenger Hunt
Noon-4pm, Museum-wide (entries must be turned in by 4:30pm)
Every pirate and princess needs a treasure, so try your luck at this scavenger hunt for a chance to win a special Museum “treasure” pack.

Princess Wands
Noon-4pm, Great Hall
Make your own royal wand to take home with you.

Pirate Swords
Noon-4pm, Great Hall
We’d rather walk the plank than throw away old newspapers! In this crafty activity, kids can make a pirate sword using recycled newsprint.

Allakhazam Stencils
Noon-4pm, Great Hall
Enjoy these fun stencils as you trace a wonderful wizard, a sneaky dragon, or a frog prince!

The Princess and the Pea, Y’all Puppet Show by Lee Bryan “That Puppet Guy”
1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, Auditorium (Limited seating)
It’s happy ever after, y’all in this “Southern-fried” version of the Hans Christian Andersen classic story of a kingdom in search of a "real" princess.
