We’re ringing in the New Year at Fernbank with exhibits, events, films and more!

MORE TO EXPLORE: A WildWoods: AGLOW ticket now includes full access to the museum through Feb. 3! You can discover the nighttime wonderland of biodiversity found in WildWoods, then come inside to explore three floors of exhibits and a viewing of Fungi: Web of Life , which will only play in the Giant Screen Theater during WildWoods: AGLOW.

View all WildWoods: AGLOW dates here.

AN ADULT ADVENTURE: Fernbank couldn’t celebrate the New Year without Fernbank After Dark! Adults 21 and older can join us from 7 – 11 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12 for Fernbank After Dark: New Year, New Energy  for a night of themed cocktails, tapas and activities. Get your tickets for Fernbank After Dark here. Fernbank After Dark is exclusively for 21+ and IDs will be checked at the door.

JOURNEY TO NEW PLACES: Guests can travel to southeastern Asian jungles through the Giant Screen Theater when Angkor: The Lost Empire of Cambodia  premieres on Jan. 20! Learn about this medieval metropolis that was and their innovative way of life, how it mysteriously fell and went to ruins, and how scientists are now figuring out what exactly happened to this forgotten world.

Then, if you’re looking to compliment your Cambodian crusade, here a few possible activities to do after you’ve viewed Angkor: The Lost Empire of Cambodia.

  • Meditation Sessions | Around Atlanta
  • Bowl O Flames | 35 miles from Fernbank
  • Visit an Archaeological Site | Around Atlanta
    • Believe it or not, there are a few archaeological sites and historical landmarks around the city that will make you feel like one of the scientists in the film. Some of the closest ones include Fort Daniel, Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park and Soapstone Ridge.
